Sarawak MM2H
Who can apply?
Those who fulfill the following requirements are eligible to apply: • Open to citizens of all countries* (except Israel) • Applicants must be 50 years old and above, while spouse (if any) has no age limit. • Applicant who are 40-50 years old, with investment in real estate specifically for residential purpose with a total amount of at least RM 600,000. • Applicants who are 30-40 years old may apply if: - They have children (below 18 years old) who are pursuing further education in Sarawak; or - Are undergoing long-term medical treatment in Sarawak with his/her condition verified by Private/Government Physicians who are registered with the Malaysian Medical Council. *Subject to Law of Malaysia or rules and regulations by any governmental bodies related to this programe.
Terms & Conditions
• All applicants must submit the required documents to Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Sarawak for consideration.
• MM2H licensed company will act as the applicant's sponsor. • Applicants are exoected to be financially capable of supporting themselves during the participation under duration this programme. • All applicants are required to show proof od financial capability by either: Opening a Fixed Deposit account with any local bank in Sarawak Recommended RM 300,000 (Couple) RM 150,000 (Individual) Presenting the government approved pension funds (for applicants who are 50 years old and above) RM 10,000 (Couple) RM 7,000 (Individual) Showing proof of monthly off-shore income funds (for applicants who are 30 years old and above) RM 10,000 (Couple) RM 7,000 (Individual) Applicants are required to maintain a minimum balance in their Fixed Deposit account during period of the programme. RM 180,000 (Couple) RM 90,000 (Individual) • All applicants and their spouse are required to submit a medical report to show their state of health conditions during first (new) and mid-term (extension) application for review and approval. • All applicants are not allowed to work or be employed by any institutions under this programme, except where permission has been granted by the Director General of Immigration, Malaysia. • All applicants are strictly forbidden from participating in activities that sensitive to local people, politics, missionary and activities that are provocative, instigative and sensitive in nature that could threaten the security of this country/state.

Important Notes
• All copies must be certified by Embassy / High Commission / Lawyer / Notary Public / Commissioner of Oaths / Government Officer (Immigration Department) • Where orginal documents are not in English, translation must be done by qualified translator. • Mediacal Report can be carried out at any registered medical facilities within Sarawak, but must only be endorsed by Government Doctors.
Terms & Conditions for Successful application
Successful applications are to be issued with Ten (10) years of approved visitors pass with a Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) and extension MUST be done for the second half of the period (6-10 years) subject to:
i. The validity of the applicant's passport ii. Resubmission of New Medical report (RB II Form) Successful Applicants Are not allowed to work or be employed as long as you are under this programme, except where permission has been granted by the Director General of Immigration Malaysia. Are strictly forbidden from participating in activities sensitive to local people, politics, missionary and activities that are provocative, instigative in nature and sensitive that could threaten to the security of the country. To maintain a minimum balance of RM 180,000 (for couple) or RM 90,000 (for individual) in the MM2H fixed deposit account in any local bank in Sarawak.
Other Important Requirements
Requirements for APPROVED PARTICIPANTS: All approved participants are required to stay at least 15 days every year in Sarawak as one of the conditions for consideration of extension and renewal of MM2H Visa All approved participant and all the dependents should purchase medical insurance and showed proof of purchase before obtaining the MM2H visa.
House Purchase
An approved participant is allowed to purchase a residential house at a minimum price of RM 600,000 per unit for Kuching and RM 500,000 per unit for other divisions. The purchase of house is exempted from Foreign Investment Committee (FIC)'s approval.
Children's Education
Applicants are allowed to bring their children who are under 21 years old and not married as their dependents under MM2H programme. Children who intend to continue their schooling in Sarawak are required to apply for a Student Pass and should e insured throughout their stay under this programme. Application for permission to study in Sarawak MUST submit the following documents for consideration: i. Applicant & Principal MUST be present ii. A certified copy of children's student pass iii. Copy of approval letter & letter of Intention by Principal / Sponsor iv. Completed Student Personal Data Form (available at Immigration Department) v. Orginal & Copy of applicant's passport vi. A copy of Passport size photo vii. Letter of Acceptance from Public / Private Higher Education / Secondary School / Pre School of International School viii. Copy of Principal's Passport ix. Letter from Ministry of Education (Except International School)
Domestic Helper
An approved participant is allowed to apply for a domestic helper or main from countries which are permitted subject to the prevailing guideliness by Immigration of Department of Malaysia.
Tax Exemption
Tax exemption is given to pension remitted in Malaysia. An approved participant is required to obtain endorsement from the Authorities in their country of origin as to the total amount of yearly pension received. A copy of the letter has to be submitted in their application for tax exemption.
Withdrawal of Fixed Deposit
Participants could make partial withdrawal of their Fixed Deposit from the second year onwards based on one of the following reasons: i. Purchase of a house ii. Purchase of a car iii. Medical expenses iv. Education of the applicants children (must attend education institutions in Sarawak) Participants are required to maintain a minimum balance of respectively under SMM2H Programme.
