MM2H visa permit Benefits & Incentives

Once your application is successful, there are various benefits and incentives that can be enjoyed, provided as below:
 
MM2H Visa Permit

- 5+5 total 10 year Renewable Social Visit Pass with Multiple Entry will be granted.
- Free to enter and leave Malaysia at any given time and is also free to live in Malaysia.
 
House Purchase

- Foreigners may purchase residential properties in Malaysia, which are subjected to the minimum price established for foreigners by the different states respectively.
- They start from RM 1,000,000 per unit for most states, from 1st March 2014.
- Land is a state matter and it is important to check state laws before any commitments, as the minimum purchase price is not standardized between states. For example, the minimum price threshold is RM 350,000 in Sarawak, whereas in Selangor, it is RM 2,000,000.
 
Domestic Helper

- Applicants can apply for one maid, but it is subjected to the prevailing guidelines of the Immigration Department.
 
Dependents

- MM2H Visa holders are allowed to attach dependents under their application, which is subjected to the following requirements:
i) Parents who are above 60 years of age
ii) Children who are below 21 years old and not married
 
Education

- MM2H Visa holders can enroll their children in an international school in Malaysia.
 
Tax

- Tax Exemption is given to remittance of offshore pension fund into Malaysia and any other foreign funds transferred into Malaysia.
 
Business & Investment

- Individuals holding a MM2H Visa can own and actively run their own business, or invest in any company but it is subjected to terms and conditions.
 
Others

- Tax exempted when importing personal/household items
- Applicants can invest in local companies, share markets and unit trusts
- Any interest gained from bank deposits is tax exempted

Financial Requirement & Qualification

• Monthly income required to qualify RM40,000 a month offshore income/retiree
• You need to show liquid assets amounting to RM1,500,000
• The Fixed Deposit (upon approval) requirement is RM1,000,000 Up to RM500,000 can be withdrawn, another RM500,000 will be remained throughout the programmed
• In addition Fixed Deposit for RM50,000 must be placed for each dependent
• You must spend 90 days a year in Malaysia
• The minimum age is 35 years old.



Step 2 Prepare & Submit your documents for application

Documents required:
- Application Form
- A copy of resume by the main applicant which include the following information:

• Academic qualification
• Working experiences
• Skills or expertise acquired

- Each applicnt Coloured passport size photographs digital copy (blue background colour)
- Ech applicant Copy of Passport/Travel documents with certification on the pages with personal particulars
* Note : All the Exit and Entry Stamp pages are to be provided as well.
- Letter of Good Conduct (No criminal record) from your relevant government agency.(husband and wife)
- Certified copy of Marriage Certificate (if accompanied by spouse)
- Certified copy of Birth Certificate/legal documents (if accompanied by children/adopted children/step children/parents)- Latest 3 months certified copies of pay slip / income statement (if employed) etc;
- Certified copy (s) of latest 3 months’ bank statement ,clearly seen the income is credited into the bank account statement as exact amount.
- Certified copy of Fixed Deposit. (Recommended provide Original Copy )
- Banker information. ( Banker name, address,Tel, Email.)
- Company Employment Certificate
- Medical Report (form MF1) from Origin country

Important Note:

• All copies must be certified TRUE COPIES OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS by EMBASSY /HIGH COMMISSION / NOTARY PUBLIC / GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL / SOLICITOR / ADVOCATE / AUDITOR FROM ORIGIN COUNTRY.
• Where original documents are not in English, translation must be done by a qualified translator.
• Dependent (s) refer to spouse and children aged below 21 years old and not married, parent(s) aged 60 years old and above.

For Approved participants:

• Please be informed MM2H visa holder are not allowed to work or be employed while staying in Malaysia.


Step 3 Approval letter issued by Immigration Dept

Step 4 You arrive in Malaysia

Step 5 We submit the supplementary documents to Immigration Department

• FD Certificate – Open a fixed deposit account with any bank of Malaysia
• Medical Insurance – Possess a valid medical insurance in Malaysia
• Medical Report (MF2) – Medical check up done with local Doctor

Step 6 Get endorsement of Malaysia My Second Home MM2H Visa Stamp in passport

• Issuing fee of Social Visit Pass is RM 500 per year + MEV visa fee RM10-50 per year
• Duration of the Pass is based on your passport validity (Max at 5 years)
• We will expedite the visa stamping at the MM2H Immigration Department

Who can apply?

Those who fulfill the following requirements are eligible to apply:
• Open to citizens of all countries* (except Israel)
• Applicants must be 50 years old and above, while spouse (if any) has no age limit.
• Applicant who are 40-50 years old, with investment in real estate specifically for residential purpose with a total amount of at least RM 600,000.
• Applicants who are 30-40 years old may apply if:
- They have children (below 18 years old) who are pursuing further education in Sarawak; or
- Are undergoing long-term medical treatment in Sarawak with his/her condition verified by Private/Government Physicians who are registered with the Malaysian Medical Council.

*Subject to Law of Malaysia or rules and regulations by any governmental bodies related to this programe.
 
Terms & Conditions
 
• All applicants must submit the required documents to Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Sarawak for consideration.

• MM2H licensed company will act as the applicant's sponsor.

• Applicants are exoected to be financially capable of supporting themselves during the participation under duration this programme.

• All applicants are required to show proof od financial capability by either:
Opening a Fixed Deposit account with any local bank in Sarawak

• All applicants are strictly forbidden from participating in activities that sensitive to local people, politics, missionary and activities that are provocative, instigative and sensitive in nature that could threaten the security of this country/state.

Important Notes

• All copies must be certified by Embassy / High Commission / Lawyer / Notary Public / Commissioner of Oaths / Government Officer (Immigration Department)

• Where orginal documents are not in English, translation must be done by qualified translator.

• Mediacal Report can be carried out at any registered medical facilities within Sarawak, but must only be endorsed by Government Doctors.
 
Terms & Conditions for Successful application
 
Successful applications are to be issued with Ten (10) years of approved visitors pass with a Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) and extension MUST be done for the second half of the period (6-10 years) subject to:
i. The validity of the applicant's passport
ii. Resubmission of New Medical report (RB II Form)

Successful Applicants
Are not allowed to work or be employed as long as you are under this programme, except where permission has been granted by the Director General of Immigration Malaysia.

Are strictly forbidden from participating in activities sensitive to local people, politics, missionary and activities that are provocative, instigative in nature and sensitive that could threaten to the security of the country.

To maintain a minimum balance of RM 180,000 (for couple) or RM 90,000 (for individual)  in the MM2H fixed deposit account in any local bank in Sarawak.
 
Other Important Requirements

Requirements for APPROVED PARTICIPANTS:

All approved participants are required to stay at least 15 days every year in Sarawak as one of the conditions for consideration of extension and renewal of MM2H Visa

All approved participant and all the dependents should purchase medical insurance and showed proof of purchase before obtaining the MM2H visa.
 
House Purchase

An approved participant is allowed to purchase a residential house at a minimum price of RM 600,000 per unit for Kuching and RM 500,000 per unit for other divisions.

The purchase of house is exempted from Foreign Investment Committee (FIC)'s approval.
 
Children's Education

Applicants are allowed to bring their children who are under 21 years old and not married as their dependents under MM2H programme.

Children who intend to continue their schooling in Sarawak are required to apply for a Student Pass and should e insured throughout their stay under this programme.

Application for permission to study in Sarawak MUST submit the following documents for consideration:
i. Applicant & Principal MUST be present
ii. A certified copy of children's student pass
iii. Copy of approval letter & letter of Intention by Principal / Sponsor
iv. Completed Student Personal Data Form (available at Immigration Department)
v. Orginal & Copy of applicant's passport
vi. A copy of Passport size photo
vii. Letter of Acceptance from Public / Private Higher Education / Secondary School / Pre School of International School
viii. Copy of Principal's Passport
ix. Letter from Ministry of Education (Except International School)
 
Domestic Helper

An approved participant is allowed to apply for a domestic helper or main from countries which are permitted subject to the prevailing guideliness by Immigration of Department of Malaysia.
 
Tax Exemption

Tax exemption is given to pension remitted in Malaysia.

An approved participant is required to obtain endorsement from the Authorities in their country of origin as to the total amount of yearly pension received. A copy of the letter has to be submitted in their application for tax exemption.
 
Withdrawal of Fixed Deposit

Participants could make partial withdrawal of their Fixed Deposit from the second year onwards based on one of the following reasons:
i. Purchase of a house
ii. Purchase of a car
iii. Medical expenses
iv. Education of the applicants children (must attend education institutions in Sarawak)

Participants are required to maintain a minimum balance of respectively under SMM2H Programme.

How to register a company in Malaysia A-Z process
100% foreign ownership


In Malaysia, there are two types of business categories will recommend to form. The first one is 100% foreign ownership, capital need 500,000. If you are looking to get into the import and export business then you need a paid up capital of RM 1 million. The same digit applies for opening a restaurant or any sort of trading business.

Join Venture
Capital, RM 350K recommended if the business is a joint venture company with a 51% ownership. This is applicable for the Malaysian partner. There is no more authorized capital as amendment.

Company Name
All companies, whether local or foreign ownership company registration done by SSM. Over there, the first step of registering a company is Propose “Name Approve”. You need to adhere the rules of naming for your company. They cannot contain any of the restricted words as provided by the CCM.  Final company name should end with the term “Sdn Bhd”.

Why name is Sdn Bhd
Sdn and Bhd are Malayan terms called private limited. For instance, name should be ABC SDN BHD in replace of ABC LIMITED. Once registration complete, a number will put as identity. That is your official document, correspondences as well as your business card.  All the forms and instructions of the CCM are in English language for global investors.

Online submission
Once you have cleared out the naming rights you will need to prepare documents to submit SSM. The first thing you need to provide is the names of all your shareholders and details.  According to the Company Act of 1965, at least 1 share holder need to form a company. 2 shareholding company is good for banking and decision making.

How long takes to register Sdn Bhd company?
3-5 days. If propose name reject will take longer.

How many shareholders need for form company?
1 shareholder at least.

How many licenses need apart from Incorporation?
Signboard, Premise, Export, Import, Halal, Environment as need.

Can foreigner hold full shares of company?
Yes can, foreigner can hold full shares of own company.

Do I need to present in Malaysia to form company?
Not necessary. You can register staying overseas.

What is Sdn Bhd stand for?
Sendirian Berhad (Malay), English meaning Private Limited.

Can foreigner register sole proprietorship?
No, cannot. Only Sdn Bhd company can register.
